In the book "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank, the main character/writer is keeping a diary/journal about her life during the World War 2 period/holocaust. She started off as a pretty happy girl, doing what everyone else would normally, laughing and having fun. A bit later on on the book, though, her family and herself are forced to move to a secret location to help protect themselves from the Anti-Jewish laws put forth by Germany/Hitler. During this time she is still trying to make the best of it, prettying up the walls of their place with posters/pictures they took from their house. The thing is, the Anti-Jewish laws that Hitler put forth are happening again to the Syrian people, although it's not nearly as bad. Our current president, Donald Trump, has recently put forth an executive order to ban Syrians from multiple countries. This executive order has affected "...at least 218 million people... from entering the United States."
